“Kentucky Crafted” Artisans Will Exhibit at the Governor’s Derby Breakfast 2006
FRANKFORT, Ky. - For nearly a quarter of a century the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program (KCMP) has showcased some of Kentucky’s best artists during the festivities of the Governor’s Derby Breakfast on the Capitol grounds in Frankfort.
This year, KCMP will exhibit 28-juried artisans. The exhibits will offer guests a variety of quality “Kentucky Crafted” contemporary and traditional handmade ceramics, baskets, jewelry, clothing, glass, metal works and mixed media. Also, six unique 2-dimensional artists from the Kentucky Arts Council’s Visual Art Program will be on exhibit, making a total of 34 exhibitor booths.
Kentucky is recognized nationally as a leader in state programs that support a thriving environment for talented artists and craftspeople. Guests are encouraged to make the 132nd Kentucky Derby the most memorable ever by participating in the Governor’s Derby Breakfast on the Capitol grounds and making a commitment to honor Kentucky artisans throughout the year by purchasing “Kentucky Crafted” products for every occasion.
The KCMP booths will be located in the Mansion tent between the Derby Breakfast tent and the Governor’s Mansion.
