FRANKFORT, Ky. - Governor Ernie Fletcher and First Lady Glenna Fletcher today welcomed hundreds of families to the second annual Easter Egg Roll at the Governor’s Mansion.

Children from across the commonwealth rolled eggs, enjoyed refreshments and had their faces painted.  First Lady Glenna Fletcher read a story while Governor Fletcher and First Dog Abby listened with the children.

“The First Lady has started a great tradition at the Governor’s Mansion,” Governor Fletcher said.  “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate spring in the commonwealth.”

“The Easter Egg Roll at the Governor’s Mansion is about family and fun,” said First Lady Glenna Fletcher.  “The governor and I are always excited to welcome Kentucky families to the Mansion.  Everyone had a great time.”

Many visitors brought children’s books that will be donated to Franklin County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).  The Kentucky Arts Council coordinated an Easter egg art exhibit in the Governor’s Mansion that showcased the talents of artisans from counties across the commonwealth.

The Frankfort Younger Woman’s Club along with Fifth Third Bank and the Kentucky Egg Council partnered with First Lady Glenna Fletcher for the event.
