House Bill 267 Passes House on Unanimous Vote

Frankfort, KY:  Governor Ernie Fletcher thanked members of the Kentucky House of Representatives tonight for passing a budget bill.

“There’s no question we need a budget,” said Governor Fletcher.  “I commend the Republican and Democrat House Leadership for working together on a budget and tax modernization plan.  Additionally, I want to applaud House members for their bipartisan approach to move Kentucky forward.”

The budget bill passed the House on a unanimous vote of 100 to nothing.  Earlier tonight the House passed its tax reform bill (House Bill 272) by a vote of 96 to 4.  The Governor’s JOBS for Kentucky plan was the base for that historic legislation.

“The positive steps taken by the House chamber tonight moves us one step closer to a legislatively enacted budget as well as a tax plan that will open the gate to unbridled economic opportunity,” concluded Governor Fletcher.

Both the House budget bill and tax modernization bill will now be considered in the Kentucky State Senate.
