Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher today announced that the people of Kentucky have voted to eliminate “Kentucky: Limitless” from consideration to be Kentucky’s new state brand. “Limitless” was the lowest vote-getter with only 1740, or, 6.3% of the vote. To date, more than 27,500 people have cast ballots for their favorite Kentucky brand.
“Now that ‘Limitless’ has been eliminated, the voting starts over,” said Governor Fletcher. “All vote totals have been zeroed out and we’re asking all Kentuckians to vote again. The brand with the fewest votes at this time next week will be eliminated, and then we’ll be down to two.”
Most of the voting has taken place online at Kentucky.gov. Those who voted online the first time will now be able to cast a vote from among the three remaining choices. The next voting cycle will end Friday, Nov. 12, and the final cycle will end Sunday, Nov. 21. The Governor will announce Kentucky’s new brand on Wednesday, Nov. 24.
“We are seeing a tremendous amount of support from Kentuckians surrounding this voting process, but in the end there can only be one winner,” said Governor Fletcher. “It will be interesting to see which brand is next to go, and which will survive.”
People may vote no more than once per cycle. Voting is taking place online at www.kentucky.gov/brand and at welcome centers, state resort parks and other locations around the state. Those who cannot vote online or at one of the voting sites can simply state their preference and mail it to:
Kentucky State Capitol
700 Capitol Avenue
Frankfort, KY 40601
