Marcus Carey of Sparta Appointed by Governor

Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today the appointment of Marcus Carey of Sparta, KY to the Kentucky Board of Tax Appeals.

Carey is an Erlanger Attorney with Marcus S. Carey & Associates. He is a 1980 graduate of the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, where he served as president of the Student Bar Association. Carey currently serves as Chairman of the Kentucky Bar Association Unauthorized Practice Committee, Chairman of the Northern Kentucky Regional Municipal Ethics Authority, member of the Lions Club, and a member of the Owen County Fair Board.  A frequent lecturer on ethics and professionalism in the practice of law, Carey formerly taught as an adjunct professor of ethics at the Chase College of Law.

The Board of Tax Appeals provides an independent, impartial and neutral forum for hearing and resolving disputes on tax issues in a timely, cost-effective alternative to the court system.
