Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Attorney William P. Emrick to fill position
Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today William P. Emrick will serve as the Executive Director for the Kentucky Office of Workers’ Claims.
Emrick has been serving as interim executive director since July 1, 2004. He will now officially assume the position. Prior to this position, Emrick has been serving as the Executive Director of the Office of Legal Services for the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet since January. He has also filled numerous key roles in the cabinet, including acting Commissioner of Labor, acting Executive Director of the Office of Financial Institutions, and General Counsel for the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority.
Since passing the Kentucky Bar exam in 1978, Emrick has practiced Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Law and has nearly three decades of experience in dealing with these matters.
"William Emrick’s unique background in Kentucky Workers’ Compensation practice, combined with the outstanding job he has done serving as the interim executive director, makes him a perfect candidate for fulfilling this important role in the administration,” said Governor Ernie Fletcher.
"It is a great honor for me to assume the position as Executive Director for Kentucky Office of Workers’ Claims,” William Emrick said. “During my law career I handled virtually every type of injury and disease claim, representing both workers and employers for more than 25 years. I believe my experience will be an asset to this office.”
