Statement from Governor Fletcher regarding passing of Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks served as a beacon of freedom and decency for millions of Americans through her grace and civility in standing up to the brutality of segregation at a time and place when the forces of Jim Crow were against her and her fellow African Americans. We honor what she did one day a half century ago on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, and we are better because of her brave stand for justice.
