Governor Ernie Fletcher makes appointment to the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Center for the Arts
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has announced the appointment of Bruce C. Merrick, of Louisville, to the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Center for the Arts.
Merrick is the founder and executive chairman of Dant Clayton Corporation. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in government. Merrick serves as a member of the Actor’s Theatre Board of Louisville, the Western Kentucky University Board of Advisors and the Western Kentucky University Student Life Foundation. He is married to Karen McCoy.
The Board of Directors of the Kentucky Center for the Arts is made up of 15 gubernatorial appointees. The Board of Directors supervise construction of the Kentucky Center for the Arts, consult and enters into agreements with other segments of the arts and entertainment industry that are consistent with the mission. The Board of Directors promotes growth and development of the arts, convention trade, tourism and the hotel industry within Jefferson County and the commonwealth through utilization of the Kentucky Center and activities authorized to enhance these and public interest.
