Governor Ernie Fletcher appoints two members to State Board of Accountancy
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed Rebecca Lee Phillips, of Louisville, and reappointed James Carl Sparrow, of Crestview Hills, as members of the State Board of Accountancy.
Phillips is a certified public accountant for Chilton and Medley. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisville. Phillips is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Sparrow is a certified public accountant for Rankin, Rankin & Company. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. He is a past president of the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants and the current president of the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy. Sparrow will be serving his second term on the State Board of Accountancy.
The Kentucky State Board of Accountancy is made up of seven gubernatorial appointees. The board is responsible for protecting the public by licensing and regulating certified public accountants and CPA firms in Kentucky.
