Governor Fletcher directs flags at state buildings lowered to half-staff
Flags to remain lowered through Sept. 20
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has directed flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff in memory of Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and in respect for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The call for flags to be lowered follows a national directive from President George W. Bush.
Flags are being lowered in memory of Judge William H. Rehnquist through sunset of Sept. 13. They will remain lowered through sunset of Sept. 20 as a mark of respect for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
