Governor Ernie Fletcher appoints member to the Commercial Mobile Radio Service Emergency Telecommunications Board
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed William F. Paxton, of Paducah, to the Commercial Mobile Radio Service Emergency Telecommunications Board representing mayors of first- or second-class cities or urban-county governments.
Paxton is the mayor of the city of Paducah and is a graduate of Murray State University. He is a member of the Kentucky League of Cities Board of Directors and the University of Kentucky Banking School. Paxton is married to Lucy Paxton.
The Commercial Mobile Radio Service Emergency Telecommunications Board is made up of eight gubernatorial appointees. The board is charged with reviewing, evaluating, developing standards and deciding on plans of modifications to the E911 service requirements established by the Federal Communications Commission. The board is also responsible for collecting and regulating service charges for commercial mobile radio connections.
