Wilbert Washington James accepts appointment
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has announced the appointment of Wilbert Washington James to the Kentucky State University Board of Regents.
“Members of state university boards play an important role in the school’s future,” said Governor Fletcher. “We appreciate Mr. James’ willingness to take on this important task and serve the state in this capacity.”
James, of Lexington, is the Vice President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky Inc. He attended Old Dominion University and graduated with a degree in engineering. James is a current board member of the Louisville Urban League & Partners for Youth.
On June 21, the bipartisan Postsecondary Education Nominating Committee delivered a list of nominees for gubernatorial appointment for each university governing board to the Governor. Appointees were chosen from a list of nominees. Each gubernatorial appointment will serve a term of six years.
James replaces Harry Lee Waterfield, whose term ended June 30.
