Governor Ernie Fletcher appoints new Circuit Judge for the 28th Judicial Circuit
David A. Tapp accepts appointment
FRANKFORT, Ky.: Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed the Honorable David A. Tapp as Circuit Judge for the 28th Judicial Circuit, Division 1. The 28th Judicial Circuit covers the counties of Pulaski, Rockcastle and Lincoln.
“David Tapp’s judicial experience is a testament to his qualification and dedication,” said Governor Fletcher. “I am confident he will make the judicial process more effective. I appreciate his willingness to serve our commonwealth in this capacity.”
Prior to this appointment, Tapp served as a 28th Judicial District judge. He received his bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University, his master’s degree from Chaminade University of Hawaii and his juris doctorate from the University of Louisville. He was admitted to the Kentucky bar in 1993.
In addition to his membership in the Kentucky Bar Association, Tapp is also a member of the Pulaski County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is a former member of the Governor’s Domestic Violence Task Force Civil Remedies Committee, the National District Attorneys Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Kentucky Academy of Trial Lawyers.
Tapp has also served as chair of the United Way of South Central Kentucky, and was a member of the capital campaign committee for the Bethany House Spouse Abuse Shelter.
A Somerset resident, Tapp and his wife, Patricia Sue Tapp, have three children.
The Executive Order appointing Tapp was signed by Governor Fletcher on Tuesday.
