Attorney General Jack Conway announced today that a Franklin County grand jury indicted Dr. Richard E. Skrip, a London, Ky. Podiatrist, on 23 felony counts of Medicaid Fraud. The indictment follows a criminal investigation conducted by the Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control Unit into Skrip's billing practices.

Skrip, who has offices in several locations in south central and south eastern Kentucky, is charged with defrauding the Kentucky Medical Assistant Program by submitting claims for payment of services totaling approximately $25,000. The indictment alleges Skrip submitted claims for services that he did not perform related to 26 patients between May 2001 and May 2008.

Skrip will be arraigned on the charges in the Franklin Circuit Court on December 3, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.

A charge is an allegation only. All defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
