Bracken County Man Pleads Guilty to Receipt of Child Pornography
Attorney General Jack Conway, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Attorney's Office jointly announce the guilty plea of 32-year-old Ronald Peed Jr., of Augusta, Ky., to receipt of child pornography. Peed entered the guilty plea on April 7, 2010 in U.S. District Court.
As per his guilty plea, Peed has admitted that between March and May 2009 he used the Internet to download more than 600 images of children, some under the age of 12, engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Peed was indicted in January.
The charges against Peed are the result of an investigation by General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit as well as the FBI. The prosecution was handled by the Fort Mitchell branch office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Peed will be sentenced before United States District Judge David L. Bunning in Covington on July 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. He faces a minimum of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
