Attorney General Conway Praises Passage of PACT Act
Attorney General Jack Conway is pleased that Congress passed legislation to prohibit the illegal online and mail-order sales of tobacco products. The PACT (Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking) Act will help halt the delivery of cigarettes to underage youth and assist Kentucky in collecting state and local taxes on the Internet sales of tobacco products.
"I supported this legislation because it is important to Kentucky families," said Attorney General Conway. "The PACT Act will help keep tobacco out of the hands of Kentucky teens and will help protect the economic interests of tobacco-related businesses that comply with the law. I look forward to the bill becoming law."
