Attorney General Conway Announces Arrest of Bell County Man on Child Pornography Charges
Attorney General Jack Conway and his Cybercrimes Unit today announced the arrest of a 22-year-old Bell County man on child pornography charges. Investigators from General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit arrested Jeremiah North, of Middlesboro, on August 24, 2010 on four counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
North was lodged in the Bell County Jail. His arrest follows an investigation by the Cybercrimes Unit.
Since its creation in June of 2008, Attorney General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, has launched more than 160 child pornography investigations and seized more than 77,000 child pornographic images and videos.
A charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
