Attorney General Conway Announces Arrest of Franklin County Man for Possession of Child Pornography

Attorney General Jack Conway today announced the arrest of a Franklin County man for possession of child pornography. James S. Crawford, 38, is charged with four counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance of a minor, a Class D felony.

Investigators from General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit, with assistance from the Frankfort Police Department, arrested Crawford after executing a search warrant at his Frankfort home. He is currently lodged in the Franklin County Jail.

Since its creation in June of 2008, Attorney General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, has seized nearly 70,000 child pornographic images from the Internet and investigated more than 100 child pornography cases in Kentucky.

A charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
