| Mrs. Fletcher speaks to nurses from across the Commonwealth
Frankfort, KY: First Lady Glenna Fletcher gave opening remarks today at the Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA) 2004 Convention in Louisville, KY. Nurses from all across the Commonwealth attend this annual event.
“This association and convention is a great source for Kentucky’s nurses,” said Mrs. Fletcher. “The KNA gives our nurses an avenue for professional networking and collegiality and assures nurses a role in policy-making, opportunities for advancement in health care and it protects the integrity of nursing. It’s a strong voice for the nursing profession in Kentucky.”
Mrs. Fletcher, a registered nurse herself, spoke about the importance of their role in the community and about how challenging but rewarding their role as a nurse can be.
The KNA established in 1906, is the only full-service professional organization for the state’s entire nurses professional and will be celebrating its 100th year for the convention in 2006.
