| Mrs. Fletcher talks about the importance of academic success at Academic Recognition Ceremony
Frankfort, KY: First Lady Glenna Fletcher was the guest speaker at Lafayette High School for the Academic Recognition Ceremony, Tuesday, October 26. Sophomores, juniors and seniors with a 3.5, weighted, grade point average for the previous were recognized for their outstanding achievements and were presented with Lafayette High School letters and academic bars.
“The Governor and I are dedicated to the education of Kentucky’s children,” stated Mrs. Fletcher. “We believe that the importance of academic success is the gateway to our children’s future.
The First Lady is supporting several initiatives which shows her commitment to education: Read to Achieve, Unite to Read and The Dolly Parton Imagination Library. She also travels across the Commonwealth to promote the importance of health and education for Kentucky’s children.
During the 2003-2004 school year, 531 Lafayette High School students earned eligibility for this award.
