Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) celebrates success with Get Moving CHFS!

FRANKFORT, Ky.:  First Lady Glenna Fletcher joined Secretary Holsinger and over 800 CHFS employees for a celebration walk on Thursday, June 9 in Frankfort, KY.  As part of the CHFS Get Moving! program, Celebration of Success was to commemorate a journey towards better health for CHFS employees.

“The participation from CHFS employees was outstanding,” stated the First Lady. “It’s great to see so many people concerned about their health and learning how they could improve it by simply walking!”

On April 11, the CHFS Get Moving! program began as part of the CHFS Worksite Wellness program which serves as a pilot project for worksite wellness in state government and is part of the Get Healthy Kentucky! initiative.  Teams of CHFS employees used pedometers to record their physical activity over an 8-week period with the goal of taking enough steps to walk across Kentucky.

First Lady Glenna Fletcher is committed to working with the issues she feels will make a difference in the lives of Kentucky families. The health of Kentuckians and the education of our children are two of her primary focuses.
