“People’s House”

FRANKFORT, Ky.:  First Lady Glenna Fletcher announced this evening that donations received for the Mansion Preservation Foundation have exceeded its first goal of $500,000. She announced that over $775,000 has been donated to help restore the People’s House.

“I am very pleased to see the response to help preserve and restore one of Kentucky’s greatest treasures,” stated Mrs. Fletcher. “Citizens from across the state have sent in donations. From as far west as Murray to as far east as Pikeville. It’s wonderful to see the love Kentuckians share for the People’s House.”

First Lady Glenna Fletcher unveiled plans for the first comprehensive preservation of the Governor’s Mansion in more than 20 years on April 21, 2005.  The Governor’s Mansion Preservation Foundation will raise private funds for the preservation of this Kentucky treasure, the people’s house.  The Mansion Preservation Foundation is a 501(c)3.
