Attorney General Stumbo Presents Awards to Kentucky Bureau of Investigation

Attorney General Greg Stumbo today presented special commendation, meritorious service and distinguished service awards to agents from the Kentucky Bureau of Investigation.

“It is really remarkable what the KBI has accomplished over the last three years since its creation,” said Attorney General Greg Stumbo.  “It has intercepted more than $1.5 million in illegal Internet drugs, keeping these narcotics off the streets of our communities.  It has also successfully investigated and prosecuted numerous public corruption and patient abuse cases, recovered more than $31-million in Medicaid funds for Kentucky, apprehended child sexual predators during a sting operation and educated thousands of Kentuckians throughout the state on how to avoid falling prey to identity thieves.”

Awards were given to agents from the following divisions of KBI:

  • Public Corruption and Special Investigations Branch
  • Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control Branch
  • Special Prosecutions and Investigations Section
  • Drug Investigations Branch
  • Identity Theft and Electronic Crimes Branch
