Attorney General Greg Stumbo and the Governor’s Highway Safety Program Announce John “Jerry” Brady appointed Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor
Attorney General Greg Stumbo and the Governor’s Highway Safety Program (GHSP) today jointly announce that former Bourbon County Attorney John “Jerry” Brady will join the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) as the Commonwealth’s Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor. Mr. Brady served from 1994-2006 as the Bourbon County Attorney, handling numerous criminal cases related to traffic safety.
Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutors provide critical support in the prosecution of traffic safety violations, such as drunk driving and speeding. They also serve as a liaison between prosecutors and other law enforcement professionals. The hiring of Mr. Brady is made possible by a grant from the National Highway Safety Administration that is administered through the Governor’s Highway Safety Program.
“I am pleased to have Jerry Brady as the Commonwealth’s Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor,” said Attorney General Stumbo. “Keeping drunk and reckless drivers off the roads is the surest way to protect the lives of those we love. With such a long and distinguished career in the prosecutorial system, I know Jerry will be an asset to our state’s prosecutors as we all work together to make our highways safe. My Office appreciates the Governor’s Highway Safety Program for all the support it has given to this effort.”
“The Governor’s Highway Safety Program is pleased to provide funding for the new Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor position,” said Captain Eric Walker, Commander for the GHSP. “Recognizing the importance and impact this position will have on Kentucky’s DUI prosecution, we look forward to working with Jerry Brady and the Attorney General’s Office to improve highway safety through continued DUI reduction efforts,” added Walker.
Brady will work at the OAG’s Capital Center East location on Versailles Road in Frankfort.
