Kentucky has approximately 1,740 roadside markers.
Search by County:
Select a county name from the drop list and then press search. Alternatively,
go to the
County Map and click on the county
you are interested in. Using either method, you will get a list of
all the markers located within that county.
There are a three Kentucky markers located outside the state: One
each at Gettysburg, PA, Shiloh, TN and aboard the U.S.S O'Bannon
assigned to the Atlantic Fleet. To view these markers, select the
"Outside of Kentucky" option.
Search by Keyword: This
will search the title and marker description for the words you specify in the
keywords text box. Only markers having all of the supplied keywords will be
returned by this search.
Search by Subject:
This will return markers relating to certain popular subjects.
For example, many markers relating to the Civil War do not have
the words "Civil War" anywhere on the marker itself and so cannot
be found using the term "Civil War" as a keyword search. Please select
a subject from the search drop list and then press search to view
markers related to your selected subject.
Search by Number: Each
marker located in Kentucky (there are a few Kentucky markers
located outside the state) has a unique identifying number. If
you know the number, you can enter it in the search box to retrieve
information on just that specific marker.
