Stephen Foster Offers "Pay What You Want Night" June 26
BARDSTOWN, Ky. – Stephen Foster - The Musical is offering Kentucky residents a “Pay What You Want Night” to celebrate the anniversary of the musical’s first opening night 50 years ago.
At the 8:30 show on June 26, 2008, Kentucky residents can name their own ticket price for this one performance.
“We want to thank the people of Kentucky for helping us reach our 50th anniversary,” said General Manager Betty Kelley. “This discount night means that you can bring your whole family to see the show at whatever ticket price you like. It also gives people the opportunity to make a donation to our non-profit theatre by paying more than our regular ticket price of $18 to $23 for regular adult admission.”

Each summer, the Stephen Foster Drama Association produces the outdoor historical musical at the amphitheatre at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown, Ky. The production pays tribute to the music of America’s first great composer, Stephen Collins Foster, who visited his cousin Rebecca Rowan at her home in Bardstown. The mansion has come to be known as “My Old Kentucky Home” and is said to be the inspiration for Foster’s composition of the song that is now the state anthem.
