Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes encourages Kentucky voters to honor veterans when they cast their ballots in the Nov. 3 General Election by participating in her office’s “Vote in Honor of a Veteran” program.

 

“Kentucky is the proud home of more than 330,000 veterans, and we should take every opportunity to show our respect and gratitude for the sacrifices they have made to protect our rights, including the right to vote,” said Grimes, Kentucky’s chief election official.

 

Through Grimes’ program, voters may obtain from their county clerk or the Secretary of State’s office a special button that can be personalized to include the name of a particular veteran in whose honor the ballot is being cast. Voters can also submit online tributes to the veterans they are honoring. To request a button or leave a tribute, visit www.sos.ky.gov.

 

Grimes is passionate about supporting Kentucky’s active-duty and veteran military members and their families. Throughout her first term as Secretary of State, she has advocated on their behalves with respect to issues ranging from jobs and training to treatment to voting.
