Secretary Grimes Reminds Businesses to File Annual Reports by Sept. 11

Grimes issued an urgent reminder today to Kentucky businesses to meet a key
September 11 deadline or face administrative dissolution or revocation of
authority to do business in the Commonwealth.
Grimes, who is Kentucky’s Chief Business
Official, directed her message to business entities that did not file their
annual report and pay the $15 filing fee by June 30. Following a 60-day notice
sent by Grimes’ office, those businesses now face a compliance deadline of

Pre-populated 2015 annual reports, which
include information provided in previous filings, are available on the
Secretary of State’s website. Filing online saves both
businesses and the state time and money, although entities may also file and
pay in person or via U.S. mail.
To date, approximately 90 percent of
entities have fulfilled the requirement for 2015, with almost 73 percent filing
The filing requirement applies to all
corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, limited liability
partnerships, business trusts and professional service corporations registered
in the Commonwealth. All entities were sent reminders before the June 30 deadline,
and those who failed to timely file were also sent a final 60-day notice.
