Secretary of State
Secretary Grimes Reminds Businesses to File Annual Reports by September 11
of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentucky’s chief business official, is
notifying entities that did not file an annual report with her office by the
June 30 deadline that failure to file the annual report and file the $15 filing
fee by September 11, 2015, will result in administrative dissolution or
revocation of authority to do business in Kentucky.
2015 annual reports for those entities that still need to fulfill the
requirement are available on the Secretary of State’s website. The online reports include
information generated from the entities’ previous filings, eliminating the need
to enter the same information every year.
180,000 entities have filed annual reports this year, with approximately 73
percent filing online. Filing online saves both businesses and the state time and
money, but entities may also file and pay in person or via U.S. mail.
filing requirement applies to the more than 200,000 corporations, limited
liability companies, partnerships, limited liability partnerships, business
trusts and professional service corporations registered in the Commonwealth.
All entities were sent reminders before the June 30 deadline, and those that
failed to timely file have been sent a final 60-day notice.
