Youth Bowfishing Tournament Set for May 10 at Rough River
FALLS OF ROUGH, Ky. –The Third Annual Future of Bowfishing Youth Tournament will be held at Rough River State Resort Park on Saturday May 10.
Billed as the largest youth bowfishing tournament east of the Mississippi River, the event intends to give children ages 8 to 15 the opportunity to compete in the sport and win trophies in three age divisions for biggest carp, biggest gar and biggest other rock-fish species. A trophy will also be awarded to the child who turns in the heaviest combined fish weight for the tournament.
Registration will be held 6:00-7:45 a.m. CT, with a fee of $5 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult and must attend a pre-shoot meeting at 7:45 a.m. to review safety and rules. Weigh-in time will be 1:30-3:00 p.m. CT.
Free snacks and drinks will be provided to participants. Each child will receive a raffle ticket to be eligible for door prize drawings for fishing bows after the weigh-in.

Rough River State Resort Park features a lodge with 40 rooms, each with a balcony or patio overlooking the lake. The park also offers cottages and camping and dining in the Grayson’s Landing Restaurant. The resort is located on Ky. 79 northwest of Leitchfield. From the Western Kentucky Parkway, exit on Ky. 79 north from Caneyville or exit on Ky. 259 north at Leitchfield and travel to the park via Ky. 54 from Leitchfield. Driving south, take Ky. 79 south from Hardinsburg and US 60.
