Get Active at Recreation Nights at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer Park in January, February and March
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bring out the kids for active and educational evenings of fun at the Recreation to Go Family Nights at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville in January, February and March.
On Friday Jan. 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., meet in the park’s gymnasium where program leaders will challenge your group to burn unwanted calories based on the snack choices you make. Wacky games, obstacle courses, and even some Food Fuel knowledge will offer great ways to beat the winter blues.
On Friday Feb. 27 join Recreation to Go as we compete for the gold in Family Olympics. Each team will make its own flag and compete to have it flying high at the end of the evening. All teams meet in the gymnasium for a great time. Wacky games will incorporate all ages and athletic abilities for a wild time.
On Friday March 27, come out for family night Survivor Style. Meet in the gymnasium for wacky games, food fuel knowledge, and daring challenges that will lead your team to be the ultimate survivor.

E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park is a 570-acre day use park located in northeastern Jefferson County just off the Gene Snyder Freeway. The park was once a farm worked by the former, much larger Central State Hospital. Many remnants, such as barns and cemeteries, still remain on park property. E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park, which opened in 1971, has hiking and fitness trails, an outdoor pool, indoor gym, lacrosse and soccer fields, softball fields, archery range, and BMX track.
To visit E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park, take the Gene Snyder (Interstate 265) to Exit 32. Go west on Westport Road to Freys Hill Road. Take Freys Hill Road into the park.
