Rough River Hosting Future Sportsman’s Weekend March 9-11

FALLS OF ROUGH, Ky.Rough River Dam State Resort Park will host the Future Sportsman’s Weekend March 9-11.

 

This weekend is dedicated to getting Kentucky youths interested in outdoor recreation, hunting and fishing.  Hands-on activities will include basic archery instruction and competition, bowhunting activities and fishing, as well as educational programming by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the Army Corps of Engineers.

 

A buffalo and wild game buffet will be offered on Saturday, March 10, from 4:30-8 p.m. (reservations are recommended).

 

Overnight packages begin at $120 plus tax for two and include Saturday night's lodging, buffalo dinner for two on Saturday evening, breakfast for two Sunday morning and registration fees for all activities. Two-night packages are $185 and include Friday and Saturday night's lodging, Saturday and Sunday breakfast for two, Saturday buffalo dinner for two, and registration fees for all activities.

Rough River is on KY 79 near Leitchfield. From the Western Kentucky Parkway, exit on KY 79 north from Caneyville or exit on KY 259 N at Leitchfield and travel to the park via KY 54 from Leitchfield. Driving south, take KY 79 south from Hardinsburg and U.S. 60.
