"I Love the '80s" Is Theme of Pops at the Park at White Hall

RICHMOND, Ky. -- "I Love the '80s" is this year's theme for the annual Pops at the Park held at White Hall State Historic Site.

The event is sponsored by Chase Bank and will be held on Saturday Aug. 16, 2008 on the grounds of historic White Hall in Richmond.  Music is provided by the Eastern Kentucky University Symphony Orchestra and will feature Li'l Stevie and the Hornets. Gates open at 5:00 pm, and the mansion is open from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for self-guided tours. Table judging is at 6:30 p.m. with the music beginning at 8:00 p.m. and fireworks to follow.

Money from Pops helps provide a scholarship for a music student at EKU as well as scholarships for underprivileged students to attend the Richmond Area Arts Council's Fun with the Arts after school program. Advance tickets can be purchased by calling 859-623-1720 or going to www.artsinrichmond.org/pops  There will also be a dog house auction to benefit Hope's Wings Shelter. So tease your hair, roll up your sleeves, put on your dancing shoes and come join the fun as you relive the 80's!
