Mardis Gras Meals Set For March 5 at Two Kentucky State Parks

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Two Kentucky State Park restaurants will be offering special meals for Mardi Gras on March 5, 2011.

 

Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park at Buckhorn will feature a buffet from 5-8 p.m. with a Mardi Gras theme. Entrees such as alligator bites, cajun and fried chicken, shrimp jambalaya and New Orleans fried chicken will be served.  Soups and sides with a Mardi Gras flair will also be offered. The dessert table will feature peach cobbler, as well as other sweets. The buffet is $14 plus tax for adults, $6.99 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under.

Natural Bridge State Resort Park at Slade is also having a Mardi Gras buffet on March 5 from 4-8 p.m.  The menu includes chicken jambalaya, braised bayou pork chops, Bourbon Street pasta primavera, cornmeal dusted kick’n catfish, cheese tortellini salad, shrimp beignets, soup, salad and dessert bar.

 

Jazz sounds by local musician Dan Jackson will be performed in the Sandstone Arches Restaurant.
