FRANKFORT, Ky. – Is there a writer in you waiting for the opportunity to come out?

Find out if you have the “write” stuff at the Dogwood Writing Conference, scheduled for May 12-13 at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park near Greenup.

The event, sponsored by the local chapter of the Romance Writers of America, will bring together several published authors and editors to discuss the ins and outs of creating and publishing prose and poetry. Among presenters will be award-winning poet Philip St. Clair and inspirational fiction writers Teresa Slack and Irene Brand. Editor Raelene Gorlinsky will offer two seminars, including one on what editors look for in romance novel submissions. Also on tap is a local history research tour on Sunday.

Conference registration is $70 before April 25, $5 more after that day. A special room rate of $71.96 for a single or double room at the Greenbo Lake lodge is available to conference attendees.

For more information and reservations, contact the park at 1-606-473-7324. Greenbo Lake is located just 7 mile of US 23, which is known as "The Country Music Highway.”
