Learn Scapbooking at Greenbo Lake Jan. 16-17

GREENUP, Ky. – Responding to the increasing popularity of scrapbooking, Greenbo Lake State Resort Park will host a weekend devoted to the hobby on Jan. 16 and 17, 2009.

Scrapbooking Weekend is designed for both experienced and novice scrapbookers. Registration and classes begin at 6 p.m. Friday Jan. 16 and continue all day Saturday Jan. 17. For those who can stay over, there will also be scrapbooking all day Sunday Jan. 18.

The registration fee of $35 includes instructions and a goody bag. Participants should bring their own scrapbooks and materials, but these may be purchased at the park for an additional fee. Two nights lodging at the park will be available for a special rate of $130 for two people. Free continental breakfasts also will be provided Saturday and Sunday mornings, but other meals are on your own.

Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is on KY 1, 18 miles north of I-64 from the Grayson exit or 8 miles south of U.S. 23 (The Country Music Highway) on KY 1.  Greenbo Lake features the Jesse Stuart Lodge with 36 rooms, Gift Shop, and Anglers’ Cove Restaurant.  The park has a 225 acre lake for boating and fishing, tennis courts, 25 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.  A newly renovated campground is open April 1 thru October 31.  Greenbo Amphitheatre features musical concerts and plays during the summer and fall.
