Goldenrod Gala at General Butler Will Feature Activities for All Ages
CARROLLTON, Ky. – A passel of music, entertainers, food and arts & crafts will enliven General Butler State Resort Park for the annual Goldenrod Gala on Saturday Aug. 30, 2008.
Along with antique tractors, vintage cars and kids’ activities like mini-golf, train rides and inflatables, the one-day juried arts & crafts and music festival is expected to exceed last year’s crowd of several thousand people.
The park near the Ohio River in northern Kentucky will be buzzing with crafts demonstrations such as a pottery workshop, tie-dyed t-shirts and broom-making as the Carroll County African American Choir performs songs of freedom. Other music on the bill includes bluegrass and a cappella groups.

General Butler State Resort Park features a hilltop lodge overlooking the Ohio River Valley, along with cottages and a campground. The park’s Two Rivers restaurant, named after the nearby confluence of the Kentucky and Ohio rivers, serves a bistro style menu along with Kentucky favorites. The park, which also has a lake, hiking trails and a historic home, is located at 1608 Highway 227 in Carrollton. From Louisville or northern Kentucky take I-71 and exit north at exit 44.
