Stuff Your Stocking with Gift Cards to Kentucky’s Parks
FRANKFORT, Ky. - Don’t forget those hikers, golfers and anglers on your gift list. You don’t have to worry about getting the right kind of boot, club or tackle either. A gift card to Kentucky’s State Parks is bound to satisfy. After all, the parks offer some of the nation’s finest trails, golf courses and nearby fishing holes.
The gift cards can be used to purchase almost anything at the parks, including lodging, food, greens fees or even gift shop merchandise.
The cards are available in any denomination, with an initial minimum purchase of $10 and can be used year-round. The cards can be purchased online at www.parks.ky.gov, in person at all resort parks, or over the telephone by calling 1-800-255-PARK (7275), then selecting option 5.
Payment can be made by check, money order and on all major credit cards. The cards will be delivered to your home via certified mail.
The gift cards have proven popular since their introduction in March with activations of more than $200,000. So take care of that outdoor lover on your Christmas list without braving the mall crowds.
The Kentucky State Park System is composed of 52 state parks plus an interstate park shared with Virginia. The Department of Parks, an agency of the Commerce Cabinet, operates 17 resort parks with lodges -- more than any other state. Each year, Kentucky parks draw 7 million visitors and contribute $317 million to the economy. For more information on Kentucky parks, visit our Web site at http://www.parks.ky.gov.
