Fireside Chats Planned At Fort Boonesborough in February
RICHMOND, Ky. – Fort Boonesborough State Park and the Fort Boonesborough Foundation will be holding a series of “Fireside Chats” with famous characters from Kentucky history each Saturday evening in February.
The programs will feature Daniel Boone (played by Scott New) on Feb. 4; a frontier musician portrayed by E.L. Kurtz on Feb. 11; Simon Kenton (played by Mel Hankla) on Feb. 18; and Jenny Wiley (played by Octavia Sexton) on Feb. 25. The Boone and Kenton programs are presentations by the Kentucky Humanities Council.
There will be a “Taste of Frontier Fare” from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. The program begins at 6:45 p.m. at the block house. Tickets are $15 for adults or $25 for a couple. Children 12 and under are $5 each. Reservations are required due to limited seating. The 18th Century tavern blockhouse will also be open prior to the chats, until around 6:30. If you would like to browse the tavern, please make time to come a few minutes early.
