GREENUP, Ky. -- Attention all Fathers!  It just so happens that Father’s Day and the first day of summer are on the same day – June 21.  So Dads, spend that special day with the family at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park.

Get outside and enjoy the beauty and nature that Greenbo Lake can provide.  The park has planned a Special Father’s Day Cookout at the Greenbo Marina featuring grilled hamburgers with all the fixings, barbecue baked beans, chips, and a soft drink for $7.50 per person, tax included, and we will also throw in a free game of mini golf for the family.

Dads, you can also rent a pontoon boat, a paddle boat, a canoe, fish, hike or even play a game of Cornhole.  Greenbo Lake will also be offering Pontoon Boat rides on the hour beginning at noon until 4 p.m.  Cost for the Pontoon Boat ride is $3 for adults and $2 for children under the age of 12.   Space is limited on each Pontoon Boat ride, so you can make your reservation for the Pontoon Boat ride on June 19 or 20, by calling the park at 606-473-7324 and ask for the Boat Dock.

Don’t forget your fishing poles and you might even want to take a short hike on the Fern Valley Trail, 1.1 miles, located at the end of the lodge parking lot.

Greenbo Lake State Resort Park is on KY 1, 18 miles north of I-64 from Grayson exit or 8 miles south of U.S. 23 The Country Music Highway on KY 1.  Greenbo Lake features the Jesse Stuart Lodge with 36 rooms, Gift Shop, and Anglers’ Cove Restaurant.  The park has a 225-acre lake for boating and fishing, tennis courts, 25 miles of multi use trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.  Newly renovated campground open April 1 thru Oct. 31.  Greenbo Amphitheatre features musical concerts and plays during the summer and fall.
