Blue Licks Battlefield Seeks Re-enactors For 225th Anniversary Commemoration Aug. 17-19
Mount Olivet, Ky. – Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park is seeking re-enactors to participate in the 225th Commemoration of the last battle of the Revolutionary War in Kentucky.
The reenactment will take place during the weekend of Aug. 17-19 at the park. The battle on Aug. 19, 1782, marked a defeat for pioneer settlers against British and Native American forces. Daniel Boone was among those who took part in the battle.
The weekend will feature two battle reenactments at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Throughout the weekend there will be Native American and pioneer life demonstrations, music, ceremonies honoring the 225th anniversary and the re-opening of the renovated Pioneer Museum.
There will also be a special dinner Friday, Aug. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the park sponsored by the Blue Licks Commemorative Commission, a group established to help support the anniversary and the park.

Admission for visitors will be $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Paid admission covers parking, viewing the battle reenactment, access to all areas of the park including the miniature golf course, swimming area and the Pioneer Museum.
Blue Licks State Resort Park has a lodge, cottages, Hidden Waters Restaurant, campground, hiking trails, swimming pool, picnic areas and gift shop. The park is located 48 miles northeast of Lexington on U.S. 68.
