Adventures in Archaeology Day at Wickliffe Mounds on Sept. 19
WICKLIFFE, Ky. – As part of Kentucky Archaeology Month in September, Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site will host “Adventures in Archaeology Day” on Sept. 19.
Guests can take a tour of the park grounds and find education stations set up to demonstrate archaeological practices, including surface surveying, mock excavation, sifting dirt, hands-on laboratory and artifact analysis, and presentations on prehistoric technology.
The special event starts at 9 a.m.
Adventures in Archaeology Day will provide Scouts the opportunity to earn their Archaeology and Indian Lore merit badge requirements. Reservations are required for Scout groups.

The program fee is $5 and includes the event, activities and museum tour. Wickliffe Mounds patches and pins available for $4 each, plus tax.
