Kentucky State Parks Have Special Offers to Honor Veterans on Veterans Day
FRANKFORT, Ky. – In honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, several Kentucky State Parks are making special offers to veterans and members of the military.
“These offers are a small token of our appreciation to all veterans and members of the military as well as their families for their service to our country,” Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker said.
The offers are good for veterans, active duty military and reserves. Guests should bring some proof of military service with them. All offers are good on Nov. 11 only unless otherwise noted.
The offers include:
-Natural Bridge State Resort Park in Slade is offering lodge rooms for $34.95 a night for Monday and Tuesday nights, Nov. 10 and 11. Call 606-663-2214 for reservations.
-Carter Caves State Resort Park in Olive Hill will be offering free cave tours to veterans and members of the military on Nov. 11. The park is also offering a 15 percent discount for meals purchased that day by veterans.
-General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton will offer a free nonalcoholic drink or dessert during lunch and dinner to veterans and members of the military on Nov. 11.
-Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Dawson Springs is offering a lodge room for $39.95 a night for Nov. 10 and 11 and a free dessert with the purchase of a meal to veterans on Nov. 11. Call 270-797-3421.
-Rough River Dam State Resort Park at Falls of Rough is offering veterans a 10 percent discount for meals purchased on Nov. 11 and a 25 percent discount for gift shop purchases.
-Greenbo Lake State Resort Park in Greenup is offering a 25 percent meal discount to veterans on Nov. 11.
-Jenny Wiley State Resort Park at Prestonsburg is offering lodging for two nights, Nov. 10-11, for $70. Call 606-889-1790.
-Kenlake State Resort Park in Aurora is offering lodge rooms for $39.95 a night or a one-bedroom cottage for $69.95 a night on Nov. 10 and 11. Call 270-474-2211.
Lake Barkley State Resort Park at Cadiz is offering lodging for two nights, Nov. 10-11, for $70. Call 270-924-1131.
