Pennyrile Forest Hosting “Hike Within the Park” on Nov. 21

DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky.Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park will host a “Hike Within the Park” on Saturday, Nov. 21. This is an opportunity for guests to participate in a guided hike along the major trails within the park near Dawson Springs.

 

The major trails that will be hiked are Pennyroyal Trail, Lake Trail, and Cane Trail. After a lunch stop at the lodge, the hikes will continue on Clifty Creek Trail, Indian Bluff Trail and a portion of the Pennyrile Nature Trail.

 

The hike begins at 9 a.m. and will be led by park naturalist Rebecca Clark. The registration fee of $24 a person includes lunch at the Clift Creek Restaurant.

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is the perfect back to nature hideaway.  It is completely surrounded by Pennyrile State Forest.  The park is located approximately 9 miles south of Dawson Springs, off exit 24 of the Western Kentucky Parkway.

 

The park has a lodge, cottages, restaurant, campground, lake, golf course, playground, picnic areas and hiking trails.
