BARDSTOWN, Ky. – My Old Kentucky Home State Park is throwing a holiday shopping party and everyone is invited!

The park’s gift shop will be holding a Holiday Open House, Nov. 21-22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

There will be special discounts and drawings for prizes that include a one-night stay at a Kentucky State Resort Park and two tickets to the “Stephen Foster Story.” The park will also be selling two tickets for the price of one for a tour of Federal Hill mansion, which will be decorated for the holidays.

The gift shop features Kentucky art, crafts and Kentucky Proud products.

Visitors are asked to bring an unwrapped toy or canned food that will be donated to the local fire department and food pantry.

Construction of Federal Hill was started by John Rowan in 1795 and was completed in 1818. The historic home is the subject of Stephen Foster’s song, “My Old Kentucky Home,” which is also the Kentucky state song. The park also has an 18-hole golf course, campground, picnic area and a summertime theatrical production – “The Stephen Foster Story.”

My Old Kentucky Home will hold its annual candlelight tours on Nov. 28, 29, Dec. 5, 6, 12 and 13. A holiday wreath-making workshop is scheduled Dec. 2.
