Volunteer Work Day at Kingdom Come State Park Oct. 31
CUMBERLAND, Ky. -- Kingdom Come State Park is planning a volunteer work day on Oct. 31 from 1-3 p.m.
The park needs help with several projects at the park. Some of these projects include lake clean up, painting, trail work, landscaping (flower beds), leaf removal and weeding.
If you are interested in volunteering, meet park manager Rick Fuller on Oct. 31 at the park’s Upper Shelter or call 606-589-2479. The park near Cumberland plans to develop a volunteer program and is interested in working with area groups and organizations.
The Kentucky State Park System is composed of 49 state parks plus an interstate park shared with Virginia. The Department of Parks, an agency of the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, operates 17 resort parks with lodges -- more than any other state.
