CORBIN, Ky. – Cumberland Falls State Resort Park will host its Cumberland Falls Beautification Day on May 16.

Every year when the spring rains cause flooding, the Cumberland River becomes littered with trash. The park needs help from volunteers to restore Cumberland Falls back to its natural beauty.

Meet at the Visitor Center at 9 a.m. to register and receive garbage bags. Volunteers will receive a cookout lunch. Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothes and bring gloves.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park has a lodge, Riverview Restaurant, cottages, campground, hiking trails, fishing, horseback riding, rafting, other recreational activities and a great view of Cumberland Falls. For more information about the park, call 1-800-325-0063.

The Kentucky State Park System is composed of 49 state parks plus an interstate park shared with Virginia.
