Barren River Hosts Youth Boot Camp on Nov. 6
LUCAS, Ky. – Barren River Lake State Resort Park will be hosting a free Youth Boot Camp on Nov. 6 for young people ages 6 to 16.
Bring your young soldier to this fun morning of “boot camp.” The “drill sergeants” will have the troops in line in no time. “Soldiers” will be doing a lot of fun activities, which may include physical training, using a paintball gun, running an obstacle course, drills, hand signals, GPS units and more.
The morning will wrap up with a drill followed by a healthy lunch. This camp is a fun way for “recruits” to get active and gain more information about what our soldiers go through in boot camp and an opportunity to thank them for their services.
Participants should dress in comfortable clothing and athletic shoes; no flip flops or sandals.
This fun boot camp is free to all participants. Preregistration is not required but is preferred. Contact the recreation supervisor at 1-800-325-0057. Registration on Nov. 6 will begin at 8:30 a.m. CST at the Highland Games field (signs will be posted) and the camp will begin promptly at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon following the presentation of the participation certificates.
