Thursday, June 21, 2012 Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson joined local and company officials for a ribbon-cutting and grand opening for Black Mountain Door LLC today at a newly renovated facility at Flint Drive in Mt. Sterling. The facility will serve as the new home of Black Mountain Door, a leading supplier of hollow metal doors and frames for the commercial building industry. The site also will continue to manufacture structural automotive products marketed under the Global Automotive Systems brand name. The project entails a $27.5 million investment from the company and will result in 60 new, full-time jobs.

Thursday, December 11, 2008 Today, Lieutenant Governor Daniel Mongiardo announced that a $40,000 Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) grant awarded to the Franklin County Fiscal Court and the City of Frankfort in May has been used to purchase a transmitter and antenna that will enable weather alert radios to pick up a signal in Franklin County. Additionally, a contribution of $5,000 from the City of Frankfort and $5,000 from the Franklin County Fiscal Court has facilitated the purchase of 400 weather alert radios to be used in conjunction with the new transmitter system.
