Treasurer Hollenbach Serves Up Breakfast and Treasure at the Kentucky State Fair!

Frankfort, KY (August, 2015 ) – Kentucky Treasurer Todd Hollenbach will be on hand at dawn Thursday August 20th at the state fairgrounds in Louisville serving up meat from the Kentucky Beef Council, bacon from the Kentucky Goat Producers and mutton from the Kentucky Sheep Association as the Commodity breakfast kicks off the State Fair with Kentucky Proud products!

Following the breakfast, the Treasurer will make his way to the South Wing of the Fair & Exposition Center to Main Street Kentucky!  That’s where the Treasure Finders booth is located with Treasury workers on hand to assist fairgoers in their search for unclaimed property. “Again this year, our booth will have an all-digital unclaimed property list rather than the old bulky paper lists.” Treasurer Hollenbach said.  “People will be able to come right up to the booth and search our unclaimed database on one of several laptops that we’ll have set up” Hollenbach added. “My staff will provide assistance in getting the claims process started.”

The State Treasurer serves as custodian of all property surrendered to the state that is presumed lost or abandoned.  Each year, the Kentucky Treasury returns millions of dollars in unclaimed property to Kentucky residents.  Since 2008, under the proactive leadership of Treasurer Hollenbach and his Treasure Finders program, the Treasury has returned a record of more than $130-million dollars in lost and abandoned property to thousands of Kentuckians and is still in possession of more than half a billion ($500,000,000) dollars that the Treasurer is working to return to its rightful owners.

If you can’t make it to the fair this year and you still want to find out if you’ve got some unclaimed property coming to you, you can search the unclaimed property database on your own computer at

If you don’t have access to the internet, you can call Treasury’s Unclaimed Property office toll-free at 800-465-4722, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
The Kentucky State Fair runs from August 20th – 30th.
